The Patio

Our beautiful patio space will be covered in string lights and will provide a hard surface (no mud or pine needles) for those wet or pre-rainy days. SpringHaus Farm is creating a wildflower space as well in their build and we can't wait for those flowers to start taking shape soon!

The White Oak Barn

The grand white oak barn at SpringHaus Farm will be most commonly used for receptions but also will be used for ceremonies as well. The brand new 5,000 sf rustic barn beams combined with the elegance of the large chandeliers will lead to a beautiful ceremony. The grand spiral staircase will be the highlight as you cascade down the stairs to your forever person! The barn is a great semi-enclosed option for a windy or rainy day.

Tips for Outdoor Weddings in Northeast Georgia

1. Have a backup plan

Georgia weather is notoriously warm. Whether it be an unexpected heatwave or a torrential downpour you need a venue with a good backup plan and a team experienced enough to seamlessly make changes.

At SpringHaus Farm you don't have to worry about a rainy day, with our rustic indoor white oak barn, we ensure that no matter the weather you can have a picturesque (and dry) wedding ceremony for the comfort of you and your guests.

2. Choose your date accordingly

Here's what you need to know about picking a date for an outdoor wedding in northeast Georgia.

  • January - February: Relatively a lower time for weddings due to the nature of the weather in Northeast Georgia, some days it could be the 70s and some days could be in the 40s so if you are willing to take a chance on the weather, the rates at SpringHaus Farm reflect the fact that most don't book at this time in Northeast Georgia.

  • Mar - April: Starting to warm up here in Georgia, flowers starting to bloom and while rain can occur, it's ok, we have a space that still will work, inside the beautiful barn!

  • May - June: is generally pretty ideal for outdoor weddings in Northeast Georgia!

  • July - August can you say hot, hot, hot? For warmer months, we recommend a later ceremony during the cooler portion of the day or have you ever thought about a morning wedding? The reception can be filled with pancakes and a coffee bar.

  • September - October are the most popular months for outdoor weddings in Georgia. September almost always has ideal weather. October can get chilly so we recommend using patio heaters to keep your guests warm.

  • November - December starting to cool down just a bit, so if you are excited about the change of season, this is a perfect time for a wedding!

3. Communicate with your guests

At SpringHaus Farm, we recommend letting your guests know that your wedding will be outdoors so they can dress accordingly to the Georgia weather for that specific date!

Other ways to keep your guests warm in colder weather could be having a hot chocolate or cider bar and giving blankets as favors!

For warmer months at SpringHaus Farm in Northeast Georgia, consider ceremony programs that possibly double as fans or bringing in an ice cream truck for dessert to help your guests cool down! Additionally, we recommend having your ceremony later in the day when it is more likely to be a bit cooler.

4. Consider Catering

If you plan on having an outdoor wedding in Northeast Georgia, without a structured venue be sure to check with your caterer. Some caterers will not take on weddings without a catering prep space at the venue. Here at SpringHaus Farm, we have a large designated prep kitchen that connects to our reception spaces.

5. Make sure you have restrooms

When planning an outdoor wedding, you must consider restrooms at the beginning of the planning process. While trailer restrooms are available for rent they are often expensive and significantly add to your overall budget, and quite frankly can be a bit of an eyesore. At SpringHaus Farm, we have large indoor restrooms, with lots of space so no waiting!

If you are looking for a stunning outdoor wedding venue in Northeast Georgia, 15 miles outside of Athens, SpringHaus Farm is the wedding venue for you. It is our greatest honor to share the charm of our dream with all our couples on their special day.
